ABDULSALEEM R. HASANAbdulsaleem enlisted in the Army under the Delayed Entry Program in 1987 and entered basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri on July 27, 1988. Since then, he has served in every leadership position from Squad Leader to Command Sergeant Major. On June 1, 2013, Abdulsaleem was honored to receive confirmation to be assigned to the U.S. Pentagon Joint Operation Center (JOC), as the Operations Sergeant Major of Plans in the Directorate of Military Support (DOMS). His mission is to assist in Defense Support of Civil Authorities, (DSCA) tasks normally carried out by civil authorities. Due to his extensive military background, Abdulsaleem has had the privilege of traveling the country and abroad on several missions. Abdulsaleem was deployed to Operation Just Cause (Panama), Operation Desert Shield and Storm (Kuwait/Iraq), and Operation Enduring Freedom (Iraq).

Abdulsaleem is also a retired police detective who served in both East Orange and Woodbridge, New Jersey for over twenty years. While doing so he dedicated a significant amount of his time to the youth within the community, serving as a lead mentor and drill sergeant for the Police Explorers and the Partnership for Youth Programs. Additionally he is the proud owner of Options Private Investigations, licensed by the State of New Jersey.

While working in the law enforcement field, Abdulsaleem also educated children within an urban setting. He worked in the East Orange School District for eleven years, six of which were in teacher facilitated roles. Abdulsaleem’s interest in educational administration was sparked by his experiences as a history teacher, test coordinator, and disciplinarian. As a result, he served as an administrator for five years at East Orange Campus High School and John L. Costley Middle School. Abdulsaleem is currently the Vice Principal of Woodbridge High School located in Woodbridge, NJ. With less than two years on the job he has established a JROTC Program, Created a Partnership with University Medical & Dentistry School of New Jersey (UMDNJ), served as an Educational delegate in China, and established partnerships with a plethora of organizations throughout the state.

In addition to his leadership and instructional experience, Abdulsaleem also belongs to several national and local community organizations, which include, but are not limited to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. (Past New Jersey State Director); Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Moab Lodge #70, Rahway, NJ (Past Worshipful Master); 100 Black Men of New Jersey (Currently serving as the Secretary and Education Chairmen and responsible for Chartering the Collegiate 100 Program at Rutgers University.)

Abdulsaleem received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Law & Justice from Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey, a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management and Training Development from Seton Hall University, and an Educational Specialist Degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. He is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Education Program at Seton Hall University, pending completion of dissertation (ABD).
